This Fall will begin our 2023-2024 Debutante Program. There will be a presentation for African-American students who could benefit from this program during April or early May. Please contact Kameron McDaniel in the Guidance Office if you are interested in this program. Those students interested in participating will be invited to an official informational session on Saturday, May 20th.
On Friday, April 28th of this year, a representative from the sorority will be giving a brief presentation in the library for students that might be interested in participating next year. All rising junior and senior African American female students are invited to attend the presentation. Please RSVP for the meeting at the link below and a note will be provided to your B4 teachers on the day of the meeting. You will go to 4th period to get your note before coming to the library, should you choose to participate.

Here is a little information about the program:
Since 1961, thirty-two (32) bi-annual Debutante Scholarship Programs have hosted over 450 qualifying African American female high school Juniors and Seniors within Lexington and the surrounding Central Kentucky area. During that time, approximately $750,000+ have been awarded in scholarships to further their post-secondary education.
The Delta Debutante experience seeks to:
· Motivate higher academic achievement
· Encourage participants to envision & set lofty educational goals
· Develop business and social etiquette skills
· Expose students to other purposeful workshops, college & career prep information, forums & highly successful people to stimulate their growing success.
Additionally, Delta Debutantes are involved in various community service projects to develop an awareness and commitment to advance and give-back to our communities.
This six-month developmental experience culminates in our elegantly formal Debutante Cotillion/Scholarship Ball where Debutantes are presented to society and awarded earned scholarships and program awards.
