National History Day Awards

On Saturday, April 27, every PLD student competing at the state-level National History Day competition won an award! Here are the awards they received:

  • Jack Gill won 1st Place/Individual Documentary for A Theory, A Paper, A Turning Point: Claude Shannon’s 1948 “Mathematical Theory of Communication”.
  • Aryav Shigaonkar won 3rd Place/Individual Documentary for A Technological Epoch: The iPhone's Pivotal Role in Shaping a New Digital World.
  • Akshay Bessetti & Saikrish Kolli won 1st Place/Group Website for Zionism: Igniting the Flame for Jewish Sovereignty.
  • Jack Gill also won a special award for best annotated bibliography.

Both first-place winners qualified for the national competition in College Park, Maryland.
