Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA)

Recruitment for 2024-25 PLD Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) and School-Based Decision Making Council (SBDM)

PLD PTSA is seeking parents, teachers and staff to serve on the PLD PTSA board for 2024-25 year.  Offices are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Chairpersons for specific projects e.g. Scholarships, targeted school/parent programs. Nominations are due prior to May 20 and elections will be held in person at the PLD PTSA May 20th meeting.   If you are interested or would like more information about any of these positions, please contact Emilie Davis. 

PLD PTSA is charged with conducting the elections for parent members of SBDM. The attached form provides information on these positions and the application form. Nominations can be submitted until  April 30th. Electronic ballots will be sent out via Infinite Campus on May 5.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Ryan Griffith.

Both of these position's terms of office start on July 1, 2024 and end June 30, 2025.
 

Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (PLD) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) exists to provide positive enrichment experiences for our students and to build strong relationships between our students' families and the teachers and staff of PLD.

PLD PTSA Programs include:  

  • Support for school initiatives
  • Organize Reflections Program: The 2023-2024 theme is: I am Hopeful Because…..
  • Organize Teacher/Staff Appreciation Events
  • Provide PTSA Funded Senior Scholarships
  • Conduct School-based Decision Making (SBDM) Council Elections
  • Offer a Parent and/or Student Program for 2023-24, topic to be determined. 

The funding for our programs comes from membership dues, tax deductible donations, corporate donations, and the Kroger Community Rewards program. Please take a moment and join today!

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Applications are being accepted for the PLD PTSA's 3 scholarships for spring Dunbar graduates

2 - $1000 scholarships to a student attending a 4-year college/university

1 - $500 scholarship to a student attending a technical/vocational school
